Donning the tenugui method 1

This is the method most kendoists use since it doesn’t require any preparation. It does, however, take a little longer to put on.

tenugui

First put the tenugui in front of your face holding the top two corners.

tenugui

Place the tenugui behind your head. Your hands should not have moved so you should now be holding the bottom corners.

tenugui

Bring the right side up and around as demonstrated in the picture.

tenugui

Bring the left side up and around as demonstrated in the picture. It should be tight enough that the left side holds the right side down.

tenugui

Make sure the tenugui is only tightly and securely.

tenugui

Bring the middle up and tuck it in as shown.
